Fluff up your sheepskin
Here are some quick steps that can bring life back to your sheepskin.
How to make your sheepskin fluffy
After some time sheepskin can lose its curly fluffy look, however this is something fixable with a little bit of love. Here are some quick steps that can bring life back to your sheepskin.
Brushing: Use a soft-bristled brush, like a pet grooming brush or suede brush to gently brush the sheepskin. This can help to lift the wool fibers and restore the fluffiness and bring life back to the wool. Be sure to brush in different directions to loosen any matted areas, don’t brush everything in one direction as it can rip fibers.
Steam: You can use a steam cleaner or hold the sheepskin over a pot of boiling water but be sure to hold it at a safe distance to introduce some moisture. The steam helps to relax the fibers. After steaming lightly, use a brush to gently fluff up the wool.
Shaking and Airing: Sometimes just giving the sheepskin a good shake helps to loosen the fibers, then hang it in a well-ventilated area to air out. Fresh air also helps the fibers regain their natural texture and volume.
